What is NST?

Sometimes defined as Advanced Bowen Therapy, soft tissue osteopathy or even tactile homeopathy, NeuroStructural integration Technique®  is a powerful multidimensional technique developed to eliminate pain and dysfunctional physiological conditions by restoring the structural integrity of the body.

As a highly integrated structural unit, it is important to address the body as a whole in which any part can affect the whole and the whole can affect any part.

 

Therefore, the “tensegrity” (tensional integrity) of the body is key to our balance and postural integrity.

 

Understanding that we can only stand up because of the combined tensional forces of the soft structures (muscles, ligaments, tendons) acting on our skeleton leads us to a simple but important principle that “muscles move bones” and generally not the other way around.

The NST has been strategically designed and constructed to re-set the “tensegrity” of the soft tissues not only on the “core” but also the tensional forces of the upper and lower extremities and the diaphragm, as all of them influence the “tensegrity” of the “core” in their own way.

 

This re-set will ultimately determine the precision and sustainability of spinal integration and consequently postural integrity.
